rain makes corn. corn makes whiskey. and that's why i hate country music.

i don't really have much to talk about, but i felt like writing something.

i wish it was fall. and winter.
it rained today, and it made me think of the weather getting colder.
which made me think of fall. and then the rain made me think of snow.
which made me think of winter.
now i want to dress in cute fall/winter clothes. and go skiing.
and skiing makes me think of the new skis i want. and that i still don't have them.
hopefully by winter break. in fact, i'm praying by winter break.

speaking of rain. i heard this awful song on the country radio station called "rain is a good thing".
it was dead silent in the car and i burst out in laughter when i heard the chorus.
it goes like this [sing with a cheesy southern accent]:
"rain makes corn. corn makes whiskey. whiskey makes my baby feel a little frisky."
i swear country singers only sing about alcohol, heartbreak, and broken trucks. i made up my own country song.
it goes like this [sing with a cheesy southern accent]:
"ooooh, my car broke down and my wife left me. my girlfriend left me too and then my dog and my horse and my cat ran away. i think i'll drink my sorrows away with a little miller lite. oh my life, oh my life, oh my life just ain't right."

obviously i HATE country music.

i started making my bulletin board for my dorm. i move in to my dorm in one week.
it's so weird. college. my life is like...starting.

i've been listening to lots of folk music lately. oh and metric! it's really just so catchy and soothing.
makes me feel good.
some bands to check out...
metric [my absolute favorite. next to regina. pretty much love all of metric's songs. especially black sheep, soft rock star, gimme sympathy, and satellite mind. these are my favorites, but really all the music is mucho bueno.]
mumford & sons [haven't heard all their songs, but i love them regardless. i really like the cave and little lion man.]
she & him [very 50s-esque. i really like thieves, lingering still, ridin' in my car, and in the sun.]
the generationals [i have yet to hear the rest of their music, but i really, really, really like when they fight, they fight.]
the pretty reckless [kind of dark and satanic, but oddly, i'm kind of in to it right now. i recently learned that this is taylor momson's band-the taylor momson from gossip girl-and it's actually pretty good! check out make me wanna die and miss nothing.]

i'm thinking i might change the look of my blog soon. for college. i'm gonna work on a new "look" this week.  enjoy the music!
