grab your torches and pitchforks! it's gonna be a party.

buying tickets to the pitchfork music festival in paris was probably the best 80 euro i've ever spent.
honestly it was totally worth the money AND the lack of sleep i got this last weekend.
it was so so so so so so so so so so so so amazing.
and now i'm going to tell you about it.

vendredi:
at 5:00, i met up with the other girls going [anna, riley, amber, and lauren] for dinner at this really yummy baked potato bar/cafe place. the guys that own it were way nice and really funny. i'll probably go back sometime before i leave because i LOVE potatoes. any form. boil em. mash em. stick em in a stew. po-ta-toes. po-ta-toes....anywho. moving on.
i'm not really sure when we got to the concert but we arrived just in time to see [real estate] finish up their gig. and then we saw [washed out, wild beasts, mondkopf, aphex twin, pantha du prince, and cut copy] and for the most part they were all really good, though i could have done without the electronic/techno music. i probably would have left earlier, but i really wanted to see [cut copy]. and they didn't start until 3:30 am...
so yeah. pulled an all-nighter for this one. amber and lauren left around 11:00...might have been a smart move, but i'm glad i got to see [cut copy], who finished around 4:30. we thought the metro opened at 5:00, but it turns out it doesn't open until 5:30.
i ended up getting home at 6:30. i showered and fell asleep around 7:00. got woken up at 10:00 by my host dad because he came up to tell us that our toilet was broken (eff...and it still is).

samedi:
i was running on about 3.5 hours a sleep, but this day of the concert was by far the greatest.
the line up?
the rosebuds, kathleen edwards, the stornoways, jens lenkman, lykke li, and bon iver.
and they were all good. so, so, so good. like i'm speechless.
and bon iver live has possibly been the best thing that has ever happened to me.
oh and did i mention we were on the front row??
