while walking to the metro with some girls we walked past a man (possibly a woman...but i'm pretty sure it was a man) squatting next to a building with his pants pulled down.
ladies and gentlemen, this man was taking a dump.
and i thought it was disgusting when my four year old brother went to the bathroom in our backyard. this was a full grown man, making a toilet out of the sidewalk.
and now when i walk down the street, narrowly side stepping the poop someone didn't pick up after their dog...i'm forced to think differently.
awkward moment # 2
i choked on a piece of sausage at dinner ce soir with our host family.
it happened like this...
the parents were at the french equivalent of parent/teacher conferences for their daughter, solene (aka soso) and so, soso (ha...) made us dinner. or so i think she did. but anywho.
we had a sausage quiche and some salad and it was delicious.
however, i failed to chew some sausage and it got stuck in my throat, so i started choking.
kelly knew what was happening (it happened at a japanese restaurant a few weeks ago...) and interrupted the awkward silence by telling them i needed a bathroom.
the oldest son (18 i think?) led the way and i followed him to part of the house that i hadn't seen yet.
**READER'S DISCRETION ADVISED**
so basically i had to make myself throw up the piece of sausage stuck in my throat.
i'm thoroughly embarrassed. not at what happened (because it happens a lot...not all the time, but it's not rare) but at the fact that the host children had to listen to me throw up in the bathroom and then they had to wait for me to finish eating...it was silent and awkward.
but whatevs...c'est la vie.
on the bright side, i almost caught a pigeon today.
