where to even begin?
we climb the metro staircase at abbesses and arrived in what i'd probably call, the center of montmartre. the first thing i saw were the gypsies with the survey papers. i am now fully aware of their little scam, so when the started shoving the papers in my face, i pushed my way through and said, "get away from me....bitches."
forgive me for my profanity, but when you've had your iphone stolen by these people. it is necessary. and i also have the mouth of a sailor.
but in this square was a little antique market.
it reminded me of that scene in zoolander when mugato tells derek to "not be distracted by the beautiful celebrities!"
i was not to be distracted by the beautiful antiques. we looked around for a few minutes, but figured it was best that we do our walk for "paris walks" and then go back to the market.
so we began our walk and basically we went to sacre cour, then through the street behind it, down the hill a bit and then we ended at the moulin rouge.
some highlights included some savory sugar coated pralines, some cute little houses, the homes of toulouse lautrec and vincent van gogh, and lots of street performers.
we met up with anna and tiffany at the moulin rouge and then we headed to the "love wall" which was a big mural that says "i love you" in every language. pretty chouette.
and of course, we went to the market.
i got an old book and a bunch of vintage postcards for 8 euro.
and anna kind of knocked over a table. but it wasn't entirely her fault.
really, she just picked up the postcards she chose and the table collapsed,
sending piles of books tumbling to the ground.
not a big deal.
but to some things up, i absolutely LOVED montmartre and i'll definitely be going back again real soon!
