i'm not really one to be blogging about this kind of shiz. in fact, lately i'm not even one to blog at a frequent rate. buuuut, it's hitting me hard like a giant rock hitting my whole body and i just felt the need to complain to the cyberworld.
guys....i'm single and i actually, kind of really hate it. for the past couple years, i haven't really cared that i was single. i was fine with it. i accepted it. i had multiple crushes on multiple boys, and i was fine that probably nothing would ever happen between me and these boys. these feelings went on for two whole years (twenty, if you count my whole life of never being in any sort of relationship...ha). and then my junior year of college happened. and part of it also might be that i go to byu, where i'm pretty sure 90% of girls are married by age 20. i plan to NOT be one of these girls, but obviously i have to date someone before i get married, right? but i think i've caught some kind of byu disease and it's slightly difficult to overcome. i'm sick, cough cough. ANYWHO...within like the first month of this semester, all of my closest friends had boyfriends/boys, and then i'm just over here like "i love food..." (c/o pinterest quotes).
and i'm like really happy for my friends. they all seem super happy and in love and what not. but then i get jealous of this love that's going around and sometimes i'm like "well who am i gonna hang out with?" and i usually find people. i have other people. but sometimes i like hanging out with them. but then i can't...but it's fine.
and then i gave it more thought. i'm pretty sure i'm single because i'm really picky. not just like really picky, but like REALLY picky. i kind of really only want to date guys that ski. i've been this way since i could drive myself up to snowbird. but it also just can't be any guy that skis. he has to #getatmylevel or be better then me. cause i like a challenge. i hate waiting for people. i like skiing hard things. sorry i'm not sorry that i'm really good at skiing. actually i'm not...well i am. BUT I JUST WANT A FREAKING GUY TO SHRED THE SLOPES WITH. IS THAT SO MUCH TO ASK FOR?
i'd also prefer them to be tall. and funny. and somewhat intelligent. and preferably attractive.
SO...tall, funny, attractive, smart boy that is super good at skiing, if you're out there, feel free to get at me.

life at the lodge
freak...i'm the worst blogger ever. oh well.
i'm like two, maybe three weeks into my junior year at byu and so far it's been a pretty good time.
i love my apartment, my roommates, my ward, my classes (well just my art classes), just like everything i guess. it's been fun meeting new people (even though i'm horrible at remembering names) and it's been even more fun seeing friends from my last two years at the Y.
as i've mentioned months ago, i've declared my major. right now i'm in the graphic design pre-major program and i'm planning on applying for the legit program this november. i'm nervous and excited and can't wait to see what'll be in store for me. i'm currently taking the core art classes for the major and i already love my classes. especially 2D design. we just do all the kind of art i like doing. my drawing class is a struggle but i still enjoy it. basically i just feel legit carrying my art portfolio around campus because i'm an "art student" now.
my roommates are the shiz. we're all super chill and get along almost too well. our apartment it great and we've deemed it "the lodge" because it has sort of a cabin/hunting feel to it. which is almost too perfect because i have so many wolf pictures, posters, mirrors, blankets, etc. so i can finally put some good use into them. we also have a N64. so that brings over frequent house guests into the late hours of the night.
anywho...college is a good time and i feel like the rest of this year will just be really legit and what not.
ALSO BIG NEWS. i'm getting real, live, prescription glasses this week. (i've always wanted glasses, so i wear fake ones, and but now i actually need real ones, so i'm kind of really excited.)

indecisiveness is a disease.
so i'm going through a mid-college crisis, i think.
many of you (i think?) know i'm really indecisive (and if you didn't know, now you know), which kind of sucks. especially now that i'm pretty much a junior in college and i have no effing idea what i want to do.
what does make my life easier is that i want to do something with art. so that narrows the major pool down a lot. ideally i'd like to do graphic design, but the byu program is difficult to get in to and if i'm starting the program my junior year, that my be iffy. so i could potentially try the program at uvu. i don't know if it's as competitive but it might be easier. i'm at least going to look in to it.
and as weird as it sounds coming from my mouth/brain. i kind of want to stay in provo. at least for college.
so what i'm saying is, interior design at ldsbc just might be a no go.
if anyone has any input or suggestions or advice or anything to keep me sane, i suggest you contact me.

i hate making life decisions
this past week i've been having one of those "i'm doomed in life because i don't know what i want to do and all i really want to do is drop out of college and make things because i'm too lazy to learn and i have no desire to learn anymore, and all i'm really good at is crafts" moments.
i'm also in denial because my sister didn't get into byu.
i really wanted her to go to byu.
what do i do with my life?
well i'm all for dropping out of college.
i'm currently thinking about majoring in advertising (but i'm having second thoughts).
my dad suggested i do next fall semester at LDS business college or the BYU salt lake center (highly considering). and then i could just live at home, get a job, and my life would be significantly easier. but what would i do at ldsbc? probably go back to interior design. maybe it is my life's calling to decorate houses. or at least my own. i'd be hella good at that.
I JUST DON'T KNOW.
i need to make a decision soonish though...help.

i think life is good.
guess who is going to paris in the fall?
this girl.
the excitement within my soul is unexplainable and uncontrollable.
je vais à paris. je suis très heureuse.
on more happy notes.
only 2 more months till my freedom (from learning and such).
i hate school. i'm tired of learning. and tired of homework and tests.
i want it to be spring/summer.
i want to wear springy clothes.
i want to marry chad, the physical science TA.
i want to be a wizard.
i may potentially have a job for the summer. we're wishin' and hopin' and prayin'.
i may potentially go to thailand this summer.
my sister is going to india in november.
yesterday was possibly one of the best ski days of the year.
and i have so much music to download.

who knew i could own so many sweaters.
i used to be pretty good at this whole blogging thing.
but now i'm pretty good at not blogging.
and i'm only blogging right now because i'm bored and i don't feel like doing homework.
which is what i should really be doing right now. considering i have two tests this week. and two essays due this week as well.
and it's valentines day. so why not?
i don't love valentines day. but i don't hate it.
i just don't really care for it.
sure. i get gifts from the people who love me (my parents).
and i get to eat candy and enjoy the little valentines decorations hanging about my dorm.
to me, valentines day is just another holiday that gives me an excuse to get crafty and make decorations (like i don't already do that when i'm bored), as well as realize that being single for 18 3/4 years really isn't that bad. it's kind of nice. i don't have to worry about getting my attractive significant other a present that shows how much i truly and passionately feel about him.
on a happier note. it's 58 degrees outside. i wore a cardigan today and it was wonderful. no jackets, no coats, just cardigans. speaking of cardigans, i counted last night. i have 18 cardigans. and 6 sweaters.
i want spring. because spring means no more school. i'm done going to school. i'm tired of learning. i'm tired of studying. i'm tired of tests. and iclicker quizzes. and normal quizzes. i'm tired of homework. i'm just tired.
if all goes as planned though, next year will be absolutely wonderful.
paris for fall semester.
slc center for winter semester.
(which means i get a ski pass. and a job. and i'll live at home.)
i have to suffer a few (hopefully a couple) more days of impatience. i'm sick of waiting for that stupid acceptance letter to come. i check my email every hour. and it still hasn't come. it's making me nervous and i feel like i won't be going. so pray. pray for me. and pray hard.
oh. four more days and i'll be loving life and shredding it up at grand targhee. i cannot wait to be at my cabin.
but now i'm pretty good at not blogging.

happy halloween.
most people expect college students to spend their halloween partying hard and getting wasted.
i spent my halloween passing out candy to children and watching a scary movie at my friends house.
did i have fun?
you bet i did.
for about two hours i dressed up as this:
but then i got bored, so i dressed up as this:
both were highly successful in creativity and i got many compliments.
so kameron [a really good family friend] and i handed out candy while dressed as nerds.
we even played part and talked with lisps and said witty nerdish things.
so many children though.
i'm not exaggerating when i say we had over 500 trick or treaters.
we gave out 200 pixie sticks, 120 licorice ropes, 250 bags of chips, and many handfuls of candy and other treats from our pantry. oh and we even gave out hot chocolate when we ran out of candy.
parents literally drop their children off on my street and pick them up later.
but at around 9 o'clock, I went over to andrew's house with mary, abby, and jessie.
we played some guitar hero and watch the sixth sense. such a strange movie. good though.
and then we talked for a bit and the night came to a close.
i would say a pretty good utah/mormon halloween.
today is real halloween and it was rather boring.
new music to come soon!

and the quest for the perfect harry potter poster continues.
i'm home for the weekend. back in the slc.
i was bored tonight, so i redid my blog 'look'.
it's ok. i kind of like twiggy. she's cool. and fashionable. i like fashion.
my quest for the perfect harry potter poster continues.
i may just have to wait till the seventh movie comes out. or order it online.
what i really want is a poster of the seventh book.
i have a bag of the seventh book. i wish i could find it.
today i...
-finished mockingjay. epic. violent. sad. and oh so good.
-washed my clothes.
-went to the london market with mary and daniel. couldn't find my perfect poster.
-ate a grilled cheese and pesto sandwich and tomato basil soup with mary and daniel at zupas.
-spent an hour in barnes and noble with mary and daniel reading pigeon wants a puppy, don't let the pigeon stay up late, pigeon finds a hot dog, and don't let the pigeon drive the bus. i sat on the floor in the middle of the children's book section. and they are my favorite books .
-bought quidditch through the ages and fantastic beasts and where to find them.
-dropped daniel off at his house.
-listened to shakira and some clean versions of dirty rap in the car with mary.
-saw inception with mary for the second time. it was her first time. i fell asleep. it's a really good movie though.
-listened to metric all afternoon/evening/night.
-cut out some ski pictures for my dorm wall. i felt it was missing something that i love. [including the HP poster.]
-wanted to read harry potter, but realized i left my books in provo and fell into a spell of harry potter withdrawals.
-redid my blog 'look'.
-ate an ice cream sandwich.
i must say it was a rather productive day.

Going Going Back Back to Cali Cali...
One more week [from this Wednesday] and I'm going to California. Why?
A'Cappella Choir Trip.
According to my cousins-I'm going going back back to Cali Cali.
I love California.
I love Italian movies. And boys.
Today in AP Literature we finished Il Postino [The Postman] and started Life is Beautiful.
Both are quite entertaining. Sad but entertaining.
You know what else is sad and entertaining?
Sad: Yoga Make up...
Entertaining: the following....
Today, I went to 7-11 to get a drink with a couple friends.
As we were walking back, down the hall, I saw a sign.
"Chocolate Chips?" I read allowed.
"No" my friends said, "That says scholarships."
I was disappointed. A little. MLIA.
I just found out that Lady Gaga is coming to Salt Lake next year. I am so going.
As strange as she is, I sort of idolize her weird clothes and awesome music.
I rode the scooter to school today because it was 80 degrees. Summer, it has come.
Except tomorrow it's supposed rain. That's Utah for you.

Berry Jello.
I've never blogged...so this might be interesting.
Now what to write about? Music? I like music. A lot actually. I don't want to brag or anything but I have a knack for finding good music. Once a month I download Blalocks Indie/Rock Playlist and get a nice selection of new music. Most of it's good stuff, while I skim over a few songs. This month is April. Obviously. I am currently fishing through one hundred and twenty new songs, looking for the gold. So far...I've liked all of the music. I have other ways of finding music. Trashy TV. Like Gossip Girl. I've gotten a ton of music from Gossip Girl. Sometimes I hear songs on the radio, or I'll sit on iTunes and listen to bands and the "recommended bands" until I find something good. Movies help too. I have my ways and my friends come to be for music all the time. Might I suggest a few of my current favorite artists...check them out.
Regina Spektor (ALWAYS a favorite)
Florence + The Machine
Jack Johnson (But of course)
I can't think right now. But I'll always suggest a few artist that I like at the moment.
Oh. I just thought of something that happened today.
I'm a fan of Veggie Chips. So delicious. In my AP Human Geography class today I was eating a bag of these chips and I got bored. So I thought. Hey. Why don't I read the back of this bag?
I noticed that the "creator's" name was Jerry Bello. And then it hit me.
I leaned over to my good friend Emily and said to her. Oh my goodness. If you switch the J and the B it says Berry Jello!
It blew my mind.
And it is official that Emily and I are going to start a band. So far: I will play the piano and she will play the ukelele. We will both sing. It's brilliant.
